Melting

The melting process is carried out with four induction furnaces in our plant.

Capacities of our induction furnaces are:

  • 1 x 25 tonnes melting and holding furnace
  • 2 x 12.5 tonnes melting and holding furnaces
  • 1 x 15 tonnes melting and holding furnace

The scrap material is first analysed and controlled, after which it is fed into the induction furnace by magnetic cranes. Alloys are then precisely weighed by sensitive scales and fed into the furnace according to the chemical composition of the casting.

The temperatures of molten material and waiting times are monitored and recorded by our team of specialised engineers from the start of the melting process up to the casting.

As an added measure to ensure high-quality castings, chemical analysis and charge temperatures are kept in check for each melting operation. Through the use of new technologies, the casting quality is increased exponentially.

We take the utmost care to manage environmental responsibility guidelines; we have specially designed ventilation and filtration systems at each production line to ensure that the dust and smoke formed during the processes are safely eliminated.

Additionally, the waste sand quantity in our sand reclamation systems is also drastically minimised. High-quality moulding sand, critical for a good casting surface, is ensured by state-of-the-art equipment and is critically monitored by periodic inspections.
